What is an earring?

First of all, what is an ear ring? An ear ring is a piece of jewelry that is worn around the outer edge of your ear. It simply slides over the cartilage and has a similar appearance to that of a piercing.

Do I need pierced ears to wear ear rings?

You don't need to have pierced ears to wear an earring... that's in their interest. They are versatile, require no commitment and, best of all, there is no pain when wearing an ear ring.

You can change your look as often as you want and you won't have to worry about maintaining a piercing. Of course, many people also choose to wear earrings alongside their piercings, so whatever your look, ear rings can work for you.

Ear rings can also be a great way to try out cartilage piercings before getting started.

How to put on ear rings?

Putting on an earring for the first time can be a little tricky, but with practice, you'll be a pro in no time!

  1. The first thing you need to do is adjust your ring size. Without it, you may not be able to put it on your ear. Simply hold the ends and spread slightly to make more space.

  2. After opening your ring slightly, pull up on your ear and slide the ring over the thinnest part of the cartilage on the outside of your ear.

  3. Slide the ring down and rotate it toward the inner ear until you have found a nice, comfortable position.

  4. Finally, press both ends of the ear ring together until it is secured. You'll know this is the case when you gently pull on the ear ring without it coming off your ear. Make sure you don't pull the ends together too tightly or it may be uncomfortable.

On which ear should I wear an ear cuff?

The choice is yours. Whichever ear feels most comfortable or fits you best. Change it up or even wear them on both ears at the same time!

How to remove ear rings?

If you want to give your ears a break or are heading to bed, you may want to remove your ear ring. Find out how to remove your ring without damaging it.

  1. Gently separate the ends of your ring until you can slide it up and down your ear easily.

  2. Once you have done this, slide the ring towards the thinnest part of your ear and holding your ear taut, slide it out of the ear.

  3. Finally, press the ends together or leave them aside for the next time you wear it.

Style your ear cuff

An ear ring is a great way to achieve that decorated ear look when combined with other earrings. Alternatively, you might prefer a more understated look and choose to wear just one curl. Whatever your style, there are a variety of ways to achieve the perfect look for you!

Types of ear rings:

The type of earring you choose can affect how you wear it. For example, it's best to wear smaller, more delicate earrings as part of an understated look, while statement earrings can add a little

Size Matters

Size will also play a role in how you wear your hoop earrings. It's more about personal style than anything else. Sometimes, more is more, which is why you may want to opt for a larger earring, but, for an everyday look or something more casual, a smaller earring may be more comfortable. If you're wearing more than one earring, you can also use a smaller and a larger one to keep the look interesting.

Stack your ear rings

For a truly unique style, play with more than one ear cuff or combine it with other piercings. As we said above, you may want to combine ear rings of different sizes or place them in different locations on your ear. Why not try one near the top of your ear and another placed lower down?

Combining ear cuffs with other ear piercings is also very popular. They look great with studs, hoops and earrings.
